The Future is Human
In the face of destruction, draw.
What an absolute nightmare.
I have been very sick about this. The idea GEN AI is here and just accept it is giving BORG. Lest we forget about Hugh.
I am so tired I cannot speak about it, because it is equal part baffling and terrifying why you’d want to automate creativity, which in itself is an oxymoron. Oh right, because without Art Education being taught let alone held up as anything but a footnote or a joke, people really think the end product-the commodity-is the point of Art.
I have found myself being clued into human touch more the last few weeks. By hugs, shoulder shakes or armbars. The last few weeks, I have really received input from training about how alive it makes you feel.
I used to try to comfort my teenage self, lately, the tables seemed to have turned and my teen self is showing up in trying to give me hope.
I used to be so, so obsessed with being a GOOD artist. Decades ago, when I was taken with Realism. I am so glad I grew. So glad I read everything I could get my HANDS on; looked at Art I disliked, fought to find reason and appreciation in writing and films that would not be my taste at first. It expanded my perception of “good” was; and made me realize in many ways constraining my worldview was actually to my detriment of artistic evolution.
I’ve been noticing the more time I spend outside of work…the better I feel. Genius, I know. But I mean liberation from the incessant voice in my head that I need to ‘keep up’. With the current rhetoric of ‘being left behind’ trying to groom the populous into accepting the unacceptable, I don’t care.
Leave me, then.
Piss off, in fact.
With all the things I've experienced in my 41 years, many of which are unfavourable and downright shitty, when push comes to shove, it seems my true beliefs lay within the beauty humanity has to offer.
